Automotive Electronics Supplier Expands Its AI Technology Testing into US
Minneapolis, MN – February 02, 2021 - Compal Electronics, one of Taiwan's largest original design manufacturers, through its business unit Automotive Electronics Products (AEP) announced that it became a sponsor of VSI’s research vehicle. The sponsorship allows AEP to further develop its proprietary AI technology utilizing a visible camera and thermal imaging. Not only can AEP’s AI detect an object’s class but also its action for prediction of traffic accidents that may happen before collision. AEP seeks to demonstrate its AI technology to the industry by testing to various NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) safety standards.
VSI Labs and American Center for Mobility Partner on Destination ACM
Minneapolis, MN – January 27, 2021 – Following a successful launch of its Automated Drive Series last year, ADAS and automated driving research firm VSI Labs is partnering with the American Center for Mobility (ACM) to debut a new initiative, Destination ACM. Destination ACM will consist of a quarterly long-distance drive utilizing VSI’s research vehicles throughout 2021. Each drive will launch from VSI’s Minneapolis headquarters, following various driving routes to ACM, where a day of testing and demonstration will be conducted at the 500+ acre facility.
VSI Labs Hits the Road - Launches Automated Drive Series
St. Louis Park, MN – June 25, 2020 – Starting next month VSI Labs will hit the road, embarking on a national tour as a means of demonstrating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and automated vehicle (AV) technologies. The Automated Drive Series will provide technology suppliers with a chance to demonstrate their solutions in an automated demonstration vehicle. The series will consist of four quarterly, coast-to-coast, and border-to-border driving missions, to examine the functionality of these technologies.
